Getting Acquainted With Anabel On Her Senior Session!

Getting acquainted with Anabel was definitely something we would recommend!  This girl definitely has personality, style and flair and just the right sprinkling of snark to make us laugh!  Her mom Cindy and her little sis Eliza both came along for the day and we had perfect sunny weather.  Anabel is a drama queen too – no not that kind of drama queen – she’s a tech in the drama department at her school!  The girl has skills.  We had a solid game plan to do a bit in the studio including the yearbook shot before we headed out to get some nature themed photos, so let’s start in the studio…

We used our red couch / black background set up indoors which is always a winner!

Emily Embraces Her Inner Awesome On Her Senior Session!

It is time to share a spectacular senior session where Emily embraces her inner (and outer) awesome!  The younger sister of one of our former seniors Alayna, we were excited to get the call that she was coming to the studio!  Emily recently returned from Oregon for her senior year and her mom Krista, Alayna, and her BFF all came along – we’ll call them “Emily’s Entourage” haha!  Meanwhile what a great girl – and that’s why I chose “inner awesome” just because we really like these girls – just nice sweet people!  Our conditions for a location session in Birmingham were exceptional and the session followed suit!  So let’s get to the photos!

Blake Is A Bad Dude And He Brought It On His Senior Photo Session!

Blake is a bad dude and what a senior session we had with him!  As for him being a bad dude let me explain…  We’ve known Blake and his mom for a bit and our son Tony actually was on the swimming team with Blake in middle school – even back then Blake was blowing people out of the pool.  He’s a heck of an athlete.  But part of being a bad dude is also being nice to your mom and Blake appears to have a great relationship with his mom Carol who joined us.  He’s just a mild mannered enjoyable guy to be around!  He plays guitar too so he is really well rounded.  Overall those are the things that make him a bad dude!

First to Pontiac…

Blake was really prepared with the style – Ally loves pink shirts on guys and he had his letter jacket, a formal look, and his guitar too.  We had a great game plan to head to Pontiac and get some edgy shots and that’s what we did first so we will start there:

MAXing Out Some Senior Pictures In A MAXimum Way – With Max!

Max is a legacy here at Frameable Faces – the third and final senior sibling from this fam and thus, the end of an era…  But nothing to be sad about!  Senior pictures always represent new horizons and exciting futures and that’s what we’re celebrating here!  We love Max’s mom Stacey and she joined us on this location session for Max where we did some “MAXing out” for sure.  And hey we had some fun along the way!

This session was relatively short and sweet but we got a lot accomplished without traveling too far – the West Bloomfield library to be exact where there are some really nice trails and a little brick to use over by city hall as well.  The conditions were perfect and so off we go with the highlights!

As you can see we started out with a little brick and sidewalk for this chill shot.  Max is lookin’ good!

Next we headed over to the trails to get some more natural settings, starting with Max on the park bench with the hoodie…  dig it.

We Took Over Detroit With Reed On His Senior Session!

We have spent more time in Detroit this year than ever before and that’s not by accident.  Detroit has been roaring back with a comeback like we’ve never seen in our lifetime and many seniors want to have their sessions in the city.  We have become familiar with some great spots and we are still discovering new ones all the time making for some awesome outings!  Reed’s session was no exception and he’s the second guy from this family Ally has had in front of her camera!

Family Affair…

Reed’s parents Brent and Tracie came along for the day as did his younger brother Mason.  Brent and I worked together back in my corporate days so we go pretty far back – about 20 years to be exact!  So this was a fun opportunity to hang out together for a day – it turned out to be somewhat of a wild and wacky session complete with wipeouts and a traveling party that got involved (more on that later) and the weather even cooperated despite a shaky forecast!  So let’s get to it.  But first a studio shot before we head downtown…

Our first stop was on Belle Isle which is definitely becoming one of our favorite spots.  Love this view of the skyline behind our guy!

This next Periscope replay you’ll see where this merry band of travelers came pedaling by Comerica park where we were setting up to get a photo in front of one of the Tiger statues.  Brent went to grab my iPhone but like a botched track and field relay the handoff failed and Brent went down trying to save it…  I guess I should have known this broadcast was pegged for madness when I somehow started the broadcast without the title pasted in.  “Untitled” is probably appropriate.  Ha!

Meanwhile if you watched the whole thing you saw that the party people took a liking to Reed and wanted their own senior picture, so here it is….

We Are Literally In Love With Lily And Her Senior Session!

Lily is easy to “fall in love” with – she’s just cool.  She gets it – outgoing, beautiful, really talented, smart, and a friend of our Lacey’s!  She’s the total package!  She has represented our studio this year as a spokesmodel for the class of 2017 and we’ve photographed her a few times now so we know it’s going to be a great day when Lily is in front of Ally’s camera!

It’s also a rare occasion that we have the opportunity to photograph a session at Cranbrook because you need to be an approved vendor or have some kind of special permission.  Cranbrook is obviously beautiful and with perfect weather (even if it was a little hot) the planets were aligned so to speak.  Lily definitely delivered and her mom Amy came with us too – she’s a delight.  So let’s get to some highlights of our day!

Caroline In The City For Her Awesome Senior Session In The D!

Okay that title was just too easy!  When your senior is Caroline and you head to Detroit City for her senior session, then a TV show with the same name provides convenient inspiration.  Detroit sessions are proving to be epic and this one was no exception complete with a trip to Polish Village in Hamtramck for dinner afterwards with Caroline and her parents!  But before we get to that let’s talk about Caroline for a sec…  Another friend of our Lacey’s, we’ve known her for a few years now so this was a lot of fun (Lacey even came along).  She’s a North Farmington Raider just like us, a total sweetheart, and she looked amazing for her session!

Before we headed downtown we started out in the studio to get a few photos here including a few on the red couch with the red paper background like this one:

Our first stop was Belle Isle which is a fantastic location especially since it became a state park.  This spot provides a nice vista to get a little of the Detroit skyline in the background…

Leah Left A Lasting Impression On Her Senior Session!

Leah left a lasting impression on her senior session for sure, but we didn’t really doubt that would be the case.  Leah is a character and with her gorgeous curly red hair she’s impossible to forget!  We’ve known Leah for a long time too so this was one of those many surreal senior sessions we have here with seniors we’ve known since they were little.  Aside from the yearbook headshot this was an entirely on location session and we had a great day for it.  The summer has been hot but the visuals have been beautiful.  Leah’s mom Laynie came with us just like she did a few years back for Leah’s older sister Sara’s session and we had fun once again!  So on that note, let’s get to some photos!

Our first spot was one that Leah suggested and one we had never photographed before!  There are always new spots to find, and this one was so cool because it was a pond literally covered with a sheet of green algae…  take a look!

Kylie Killed It On Her Senior Session – Not Even Kinda Kidding

Kylie killed it on her senior session.  What does that mean exactly?  It means she owned it, slayed it, rocked it, kicked major butt, looked amazing, had fun – you know, all of that stuff.  It wasn’t the first time Kylie had been in front of Ally’s camera since she used to come here to the studio for dance photos, but this was completely different.  We planned this session out with an epic sprawl of locations, technique, timing, style and general awesomeness.  Kylie’s mom Kelly joined us and we had a great time – we’ve been excited to show these!

We started out in the studio where we worked with our signature “black and blowy” setup which we love – sometimes black clothes against the black backdrop looks so cool when you know how to light it, and Kylie looks beautiful here…

So as you can tell the session got off to a good start in the studio and the location photos followed suit!  First we headed over to Birmingham to get a few photos in the city like this one:

Mad About Marie And Her Wonderful Senior Session!

We’ve been mad about Marie for a long time now.  From the time she joined her older twin sisters on their session for a few photos a couple years ago to her spokesmodel session earlier this year and now culminating with her own senior session in Birmingham, we’ve been fans from day one!  We planned a total city photo shoot in Birmingham with her and she really nailed it – not that we were surprised.  She’s a real pro and so yeah, we’re mad about Marie!!!

We started at the top (of a parking structure) and worked our way down, and we had great conditions even getting a few well timed breezes before the storms came in.  We’ll start on the parking structure here:

At this point we headed over to Quarton Lake because we liked the light we had and we knew a storm might roll on in…  It was a good move – this photo is perfect!
