Harry Has It – A Senior Session With Badassery…and Fire!

Harry is a badass.  But there’s more to this guy than just that – he’s funny, cool and he listens to hard rock so needless to say we enjoyed photographing this dude for senior pictures.  We figured we would – he’s a legacy Frameable senior (brother Max) from a great family and his mom Susan joined us for a really fun time!  We’re fired up to share these in more ways than one…

Harry Has It

For morning sessions we head out for the location photos first so let’s get to some highlights outside!

Harry

Stud.  And we’re loving the AC/DC shirt!

Harry

Nice close up of our guy.

We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook:

And we’ll leave you with one more from outdoors:

Harry

The shirt with the matching pop of color over Harry’s shoulder is perfection!

At this point we headed back to the studio where we broke out some weights and then a bat with some FIRE!  Here’s the behind the scenes from Instagram:

The Title Of These Senior Highlights Writes Itself: We Adore-a Leora!

We love seniors who are game for anything and Leora was no exception as you’ll see at the end of this post!  She’s a sweetheart and a North Farmington Raider (yeah!) like us so she gets bonus points lol.  We had a fantastic day with her and her mom Kim for her senior pics with one of those epic grand finales that we love!  So let’s get to some highlights!

We Adore-A Leora

We covered a lot of ground and styles so we won’t get to all of them here, but we started in the studio on the black background for this stunning pic:

Leora

Gorgeous!

We also have some fun behind the scenes from Facebook – first with Leora in her poms uniform – she’s the captain!

At this point we headed out on location for a few beautiful photos like this one:

Leora

…and this one:

Leora

And now for the coup de grace!  Let’s get IN the water!

Here’s the behind the scenes first:

And the spectacular result!!!

Leora

WOW!!!!

A great one to end on, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with Leora!

Sydney’s Senior Pictures Tell A Story Of Strength, Survival and a Little Fun!

When Sydney appeared on the blog earlier this year as a spokesmodel we mentioned that she was a survivor with more to come later this summer…  So here we are with highlights from her senior session, and what a session.  Not a dry eye in the place as we celebrated this warrior and beautiful senior from the class of 2022!  You see, Syd is a real survivor – a two time survivor of leukemia and one of the toughest people we know.  But you’d never know it.  She’s just a sweet unassuming adorable high school senior – and that’s precisely what makes her such an inspiration to us.  It was an honor for us for her to include us in incorporating her story of survival into this portrait session.  Her parents Stacy and Jason joined us along with Syd’s grandparents – it was another family affair just like it was with her brother Jeremy for his senior pics!  So let’s get to some highlights!

Strength, Survival, and a Little Fun…

Survival

Okay so maybe that header is backwards… the fun actually came before the survival part.  Hehe…

This first part of the session took place at Sydney’s house – the water, and this spiral staircase – heck we said we’re going to just start doing senior pics at their house all the time lol…

Survival

She’s adorable.

Syd even got all the way in the water and we have some fun behind the scenes from that from Facebook!

At this point we headed back to the studio and that’s where we focused on Syd’s story.  This included a framed photo of a young Syd in the middle of her first battle with leukemia on an orange background (leukemia is represented by the color orange) as well as all the beads she collected over the years that symbolize her fight.  So meaningful…  First here is the behind the scenes from Facebook and Syd’s mom Stacy gives us some background:

…and here is one of the results:

Survival

A picture is worth a thousand words. 🧡 🧡 🧡

Well we said strength, survival and a little fun right?  We started with fun, and we finished with fun.  Last stop the M1 Concourse in Pontiac to photograph Syd with her classic pink 1968 Ford Mustang that she and her dad built!  We had never been there before and what a treat.  So cool!  We’re a little embarrassed to say we didn’t even realize there was a racetrack 20 minutes from the studio!  We have some more behind the scenes from the track here on Instagram for you:

….and one of the highlights!

Survival

HOW COOL IS THAT?

So wow.  Yes a story of strength, survival and well……just Syd.  We laughed, we cried, we celebrated and we won’t soon forget this day – we hope you enjoyed the highlights!

Starting To Think That All Ali / Ally / Aly’s Are Adorable – We LOVE This Ali!

Ali and Ally as it turns out seem to be kindred spirits, and we both fell in love with this adorable Ali – seems it’s an Ali / Ally thing and you might not understand.  Although it’s easy to explain when you meet someone who is smart, funny, and bursting with personality like this Ali whom we photographed in Detroit for senior pictures!  Her mom Amy joined us for this wonderful day downtown and we even wrapped it up with some yummy eats at Laika Dog!  But it’s the pictures we’re here for, so let’s get to the highlights!

We LOVE This Ali

Telling The Tale Of The Taking Of Toby’s Senior Pictures!

Telling the tale of the taking of Toby’s senior pictures won’t be hard – there’s plenty to talk about.  Now granted, this was our first time really hanging out with Toby, but he’s a double legacy – the third sibling to be a Frameable senior here after sister Kylie and brother Jack!  So we get to hang out with mom Kelly once again (we end up talking a lot of music) which we love!  As for Toby, he’s a good kid – just mellow and unassuming – quite enjoyable we must say, and we had a great day for his senior session so let’s get to the highlights!

Telling The Tale Of Toby’s Pics

We started out in the studio where we had to get the yearbook headshot, but often the guys go full suit and tie for a couple formal pics beyond just the headshot which we always think is a great look!

Telling The Tale

Dapper dude – and Ally is a big fan of the pink tie…

We also have some fun behind the scenes from the studio on Facebook:

At this point it was time to head over to Birmingham to get some photos on location!

Telling The Tale

Looking good Toby!

Killin’ It With Kellen On A Sunny Day For Senior Pictures!

Kellen is a Bloomfield Hills Blackhawk and as you may know our kids were too, so we love our Blackhawks!  She is a very accomplished student-athlete who is headed to Iowa City to play soccer as a Hawkeye, and we had a warm sunny day for her senior pics!  Kellen’s mom Karen joined us at a few of our favorite spots around West Bloomfield and yes, even though Ally likes to poke fun at Doug for saying it, we were KILLIN’ IT with Kellen!  So let’s get to the highlights shall we?

Good Karma With Kamari On Her Senior Session In Detroit!

Kamari is literally an anagram of karma with a fun “i” on the end, and if karma is the sum of your energy from your actions then yes, Kamari has good karma judging by the result of this awesome session in Detroit!  We actually knew this already because it’s not the first or even the second time Kamari has been in front of Ally’s camera!  The first time was when she was little for some family pics, and the second time was as a spokesmodel for us for the class of 2022!  She comes from a great family, her dad Jahmal joined us in Detroit for this session & mom Kimberly made an appearance at the studio as well!  We love these guys.  So let’s get to the highlights!

Good Karma With Kamari

We started at the Detroit Institute Of Arts which is a great spot:

Good Karma

She looks amazing!

We also have some fun behind the scenes from Facebook Live:

Next we headed over to Eastern Market which is where we spent the rest of the session really – and we got great stuff…
Good Karma
That magenta / pink – what a great background for her!

This is where part of that karma kicks in – anytime we find a new spot at a location we’ve been to many times that’s a big deal for us, and we never really noticed this one dead end as an option.  Jahmal gets most of the credit – we think he was the one who pointed it out (?).

Good Karma

A Symphonic Session of Senior Pictures With Jonah!

Yes this was a symphonic session indeed, because Jonah is a composer!  An extremely talented young man who attends Interlochen, we hadn’t seen him since he was a little boy and we were thrilled to have him at the studio with his cello for his senior pictures!  I (Doug) used to play the cello in my high school orchestra so I’m obviously a fan of the instrument, and we are now pretty big fans of Jonah.  We’ve known his parents Andy and Dana forever and Dana joined us on his session, while we saw Andy back at the house for a couple pics by the piano!  Good times.  Let’s get to the highlights!

A Symphonic Session!

We started in the studio…

Lindsey In Her Own League With Her Senior Pictures!

We’ve had great luck with Lindseys throughout the history of the studio…. some of our favorite people to photograph have been Lindseys!  We’re here to tell you this one has continued the tradition, put her stamp on it and perhaps even upped the ante – Lindsey in her own league if you will!  We LOVE this girl.

You’ve seen Lindsey on the blog before as a spokesmodel representing this current class of 2022 and we were pretty excited to have her back in front of Ally’s camera again and to hang with her and her mom Stacy, so let’s get to the highlights!

Lindsey In Her Own League!

We also have some behind the scenes first from Facebook:

Allow Us To Rave About Rachel And Her Senior Pictures…

Allow us to Rave About Rachel for a few minutes please.  What an impressive young lady!  She’s just a beautiful person inside and out – smart, fun, outgoing, nice, a student athlete – the whole enchilada.  We just met her and her mom Lisa but our families have connections going back to our days at North Farmington so we felt like old friends immediately, and we had a phenomenal day together for Rachel’s session – one to remember for sure.  There’s a story in this one….

For starters, we were watching the weather forecast like a hawk because we thought there was supposed to be a chance of a storm.  But weather.com’s hourly forecast for Birmingham as late as 1:30 was showing around an 11% – 15% chance of precipitation for the hours of 3PM and on for the rest of the day – which from experience is pretty darn safe.  You know you’ll have great conditions……

Well around 2:30 the forecast suddenly changed to 58% chance of thunderstorms.  We were not happy.  But the hourly still showed that IF the storms came they’d taper off by 7 worst case, and at this point Rachel was already into getting her hair and makeup done so we still felt pretty confident that we should press on.

Allow Us To Rave About Rachel!

We started in the studio for this stunning pic:

Rave About Rachel

Right?

At this point we packed up to head to Birmingham.  And once we got outside to head North on Orchard Lake Rd. (detouring to Walnut Lake because of Maple construction) we saw that the sky ahead was BLACK.  Uh oh….

And sure enough sheets of rain with plenty of thunder and lightening ensued.  Now, we had all established that we could wait it out as long as we needed – no one had anywhere to be after.  But we couldn’t help being slightly nervous that this might not happen.  We couldn’t remember ever heading out to a senior session in a monsoon like this one… and I (Doug) actually tweeted at weather.com to give them a little “feedback” lol…  We know the weather changes but logic defies the idea that at 1:30 there was only an ELEVEN percent chance of any rain.  They blew this one.

We sat in our cars at the location waiting out the storm for about a half hour or so before we all decided we needed a midday coffee, so we went to the closest Starbucks and hung out for a little while which was actually great, and then lo and behold – the storm passed!  And not only did it pass, but it left perfect weather in its wake for us!

I knew it all along…. hehe.

So let’s goooooooooooo!  Check out these awesome highlights!

We even used a puddle for a reflection…. making lemonade out of a lemon!
