We had a Maddie takeover in the D! You’ve seen Maddie on this blog before as a spokesmodel representing Mercy High School for the senior class of 2021 and her return was epic! Yes it was a little cold but we literally had downtown Detroit to ourselves early on this particular Saturday morning and we made the most of it!
Maddie Takeover In The D
We started over by the Fox Theater which is appropriate since Maddie is into theater herself! Check it out:
Cool huh? She’s a box office star to be…
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook:
Next we headed over to The Belt which was also empty and got this photo:
Okay she’s adorable.
Next stop: the DIA!
Love it!
We have more behind the scenes too – this time from Instagram:

Bree gave us a day to remember in Detroit with a spectacular session in the city! We’ve known Bree’s mom Heather for many years and we had a blast with the two of them! Bree is a class of 2021 senior at Walled Lake Western and she’s a multitalented girl – smart, nice, athletic and beautiful! The whole package. Let’s check out some highlights of our day with her!
Bree In The D!
So actually we’re going to start in the studio where we began the session before we headed downtown with this photo against the black backdrop:
Love it!
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook:
At this point it was time to head to Detroit! We spent some time on Belle Isle where we got this next one – we just love the willows there:
Gorgeous!
Next stop, the Riverfront… and we have more behind the scenes this time from Instagram:

Estee is indeed the bestee – haha I could NOT resist that title for this blog post!!! We’ve known her and her fam for years and she’s a legacy Frameable senior since we photographed her big bro Ben a couple years ago! Her mom Leigh joined us, and even Ben and dad Jeff joined for a couple family pics – I think I might do a separate post of the family pics that have come from a few of our senior sessions where the fam jumped in! But in the meantime let’s focus on Estee and her memorable session in Detroit!
Estee Is Just The Bestee
First stop was Eastern Market and Estee was prepared – she did her homework and had a couple of her favorite murals picked out… Here’s a photo of her on one of them:
Totes Adorbs, and if no one says that anymore then #sorrynotsorry because she IS.
We also have some fun behind the scenes from this pic from Facebook:
Here’s another one from Eastern Market Ally just went with spur of the moment by having Estee pose in the street – very cool:
LOVE!
Two more stops around town at this point – first at the DIA:
Another winner, and at this point we headed over to Belle Isle to catch an awesome sunset…. and we have some more behind the scenes first from the bridge on Instagram:

Adrianna gets artsy on this senior session with a first for us – photographing at and around the Detroit Institute of Art! Pretty cool setting that we enjoyed quite a bit – we’ve already been back since. Meanwhile we’ve photographed Adrianna a LOT! Going back to when she was very little, and not to mention she is a spokesmodel representing the studio for the West Bloomfield Laker class of 2021! The whole family joined for a couple of family pics – dad Tommy, brothers TJ and Cruz, and then mom Lillian stayed on for the whole session – we always have a great time with these guys!
Adrianna Gets Artsy
So as I said we started at the DIA which is where this gorgeous pic was taken…
Just stunning…
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook:
And here’s one from the steps around the back of the museum – love this…
At this point we headed over to Belle Isle and our lighting was really nice…
Beautiful!
For a little more behind the scenes fun here’s the TikTok recap of the day:

Adorable Anna just sums it up – she just is. We had an amazingly fantastic session with her and her parents Jen and Tom in Detroit, and we kinda knew we would because her big sis Meg’s senior session was a memorable one as well. We love this fam! Anna is a class of 2021 senior at Detroit Country Day and we’ve been looking forward to getting these up on the blog, so let’s get to it!
Adorable Anna
We started out at the riverfront and got off to a perfect start…
Gorgeous by the river!
We also have some fun behind the scenes action first from Facebook:
From there we headed over to the Eastern Market area where we got this cool pic on some steps!
Okay how adorable is she?

Giulianna is one of our peeps – a spokesmodel for the class of 2021 and we had a fabulous session with her in Detroit back in June, so we were pumped to have her back for another round for her senior pictures! Yep – this is Juju part two – back to Detroit for more!!! Once again her delightful mom Barb came with and we had a blast, so let’s get to some highights!
Juju Part Two!
Yes this photo is in downtown Detroit! And it’s awesome:
Gorgeous – love the little footbridge and we have some behind the scenes fun from this one on Facebook:
Here’s another one with some beautiful flowers as a backdrop!
Okay – just stunning!!!! And this is a good spot to shout out Mary Qarana (a former Frameable Faces senior herself) for Juju’s makeup – just a brilliant job!
We headed over to Eastern Market for some murals too…
What a perfect day we had…. Here’s some more behind the scenes fun this time from Instagram:

Yes we made magic with Micole in Detroit – senior picture magic! Micole is a rising senior in the class of 2021 at Bloomfield Hills High School, and we LOVE our Blackhawks since our own kids were Blackhawks! Part of what made this session special was that Micole’s whole fam joined us – parents Sarah and Todd and little brother Ari – and it was pretty cool to have everyone there to join in and celebrate this girl. She’s smart and adorable and we really enjoyed spending the day with her! So let’s get to some highlights!
Magic With Micole!
We actually started with a few pics in the studio so let’s highlight one of those first:
Love the ripped denim and the tie dye! We also have some fun behind the scenes from the day first from Instagram Live:
At this point it was time to head downtown and we had a great day for it! We hit Belle Isle first…
Gotta love when the fountain is on!
Here’s a closeup on one of our favorite bridges there:
Okay she is stunning…
After hanging on the island for a while we finished up over by Eastern Market, and we have a little more behind the scenes fun this time from Facebook:
….and the result!
Magic with Micole indeed! And there you have it! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

With another entry in the surreal moments category we present to you our last and FAR from least spokesmodel for the rising Class of 2021 seniors – JuJu!!! Giulianna was last here with her siblings in December of 2010! Here’s a photo from that session from a studio sample book we still have!
She was so adorable! And now she’s back a full decade later as a beautiful and kind senior! Wow… time sure flies and it’s so special for us to have the people who were with us in the early days of the studio here at the Orchard Mall back to represent us for senior pictures! We’ve always been admirers of JuJu’s mom Barb – she is just good. Such a sweetheart. So when they agreed to spokesmodeling for us we were over the moon. We knew JuJu would bring the juju! The GOOD kind!!!
JuJu brings the juju…to Detroit!
We were also excited to get back down to Detroit for some photos. We hadn’t been down there for a session since before the stay at home orders and we love being there. Detroit sessions have been really popular the last several years (there’s a slight additional charge of $75 for the time and travel required for a Detroit session).
We started on Belle Isle and even though the fountain wasn’t on we thought it made for a nice backdrop!
LOVE! We had a perfect day too…
Here’s another on Belle Isle:
At this point we headed over to Eastern Market and we have some fun behind the scenes for you here from Facebook!
And the result:
The next photo was a first for us at Scott Sprague’s studio in Detroit which we have access to as an option going forward for a fee – it’s unique, spacious and has some fantastic lighting! Scott was really nice and invited us up to play around a little so we took him up on it. Here are a couple from his studio:
You can see in the TikTok above the natural lighting that comes through the windows that we used for this next one we’ll leave you with:
And there you have it – JuJu with the good juju! We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her and all the photos of our wonderful class of 2021 spokesmodel crew! So excited to photograph this rising senior class!

We still have some seniors to photograph but we’ll call this one with Seth the last one of the fall season in Detroit and it’s a STELLAR one to end on! Granted it was a cold windy day, but it was dry and we were able to get fantastic results. Seth is very go with the flow and he was a trooper with the weather! He’s got a good head on his shoulders and we had a great day with him and his mom Bridget!
Stellar Seth
We started in the studio with a few quick formal photos on the grey – here’s one:
GQ!!!!
Then it was time to head downtown and we started on Belle Isle – here’s one with the skyline in the distance!
Next we found a bridge that we’ve never used before – it’s SO cool and it will henceforth be known as Seth’s bridge because that’s how we roll! Here’s the behind the scenes on that from Instagram:
And one of the results…
Love that shot!!!
We also headed over to Eastern Market to grab some pics with the murals and here’s the behind the scenes from that on Facebook LIVE:
And we’ll leave you with this one:
Stud!
And there you have it! A stellar session with Seth in the D and we hope you enjoyed the highlights! A great one to end on…….for now!

We have known Sedona since she was a baby and this is at least the third time she’s been on our blog! She’s beautiful, smart, funny, snarky, and we are smitten with her senior session!!! She was a spokesmodel for us this year for Walled Lake Northern and we were excited to get her in front of Ally’s camera once again! Her mom Rachel who is one of our dear friends joined us for a fun day in Detroit, so let’s get to some highlights!
Smitten With Sedona
We actually spent the entire session on Belle Isle which has so many amazing spots to photograph, and this was the first time we headed to Sunset Point for this awesome shot of Sedona against the Detroit skyline!
Just beautiful!
We also have some fun behind the scenes first from Facebook LIVE:
Next we headed over to the red bridge for this stunner…
Love it.
Moving around the island we stopped in at the conservatory and here’s a little video from Instagram…
And at that point we headed over to the covered bridge for a few:
We love that spot, but this next one was almost an afterthought – one of those “hang on – go stand by that tree” photos that we hadn’t planned on. It turned out to be the last photo of the day and it’s outstanding…
Do you see? Do you see why we’re smitten with Sedona’s session? We’re just smitten with Sedona period – love this girl, and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!
