Oh DEER! We Made Incredible Senior Session Memories With Meg!

Oh deer…. hehe.  I think we’ll just leave that here and we’ll come back to it later.

Meanwhile we had a delightful day with Detroit Country Day senior and future Central Michigan Chippewas field hockey player Meg and her mom Jennifer on a memorable senior session first here at the studio and then on location!  We’ll start in the studio:

Senior Session Memories With Meg!

The white backdrop is just a nice simple and contemporary look and Meg rocked it…

Oh Deer

She is adorable.

Fire up Chips!  No Really – FIRE UP!

We’ve had a run on accomplished athletes for the class of 2019 which has us thinking about making college sports updates for former Frameables a thing going forward, and Meg is going to be continuing her career in field hockey at CMU as we mentioned before.  So let’s FIRE up Chips!  Like, for real…

First a little behind the scenes of what we mean from the Facebook Live broadcast:

And the result!

Oh Deer

Don’t mess with Meg…

At this point we headed out on location to get some photos in a natural setting and we had a great day for it:

Oh Deer

Wow!!!  And that backlight….

We have some more behind the scenes this time from Instagram

And the photo in the leaves…

Oh Deer

Oh DEER….

Meanwhile here’s the oh DEER part.  We have never seen a more friendly wild deer than this one who just came over and chilled with us.  Licking Meg’s hand and just hanging out for a few pics.  We were blown away – Meg said it was the coolest thing she thinks she’s ever done.  It’s a bonus photo and here it is…

Oh Deer

Meg the deer whisperer!  We’re including the Snapchat story that has a little of this captured on video – so fun!

Oh DEER!  And there you have it – an experience we’ll never forget and a senior we won’t forget either!  We expect big things from this girl and we hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Quinn And Our Quest For Quality Locations On Her Senior Session!

Quinn is a Qaracter (see what I did there?).  Haha – a character in the best way!  She’s smart, funny, unique and beautiful and she was totally into this session!  She made it a lot of fun to photograph her and her mom Linda is kind of awesome too.  We laughed a lot on this session and most notably for us we found several new spots to photograph in Birmingham that were right under our noses but we never noticed them!  Our quest was surely a success and we’re excited to share the highlights!!!

First in the studio…

We started in the studio but that doesn’t mean the photo we have here is any less uniquely Quinn – we hadn’t quite used this combination before with this floor, this chair, and the black backdrop…  Love this:

Quinn

The browns and earth tones – so cool!  She looks fantastic!

We also have our behind the scenes broadcast replays from our day – first on Periscope from the studio, and if you want to be a part of our shows there you can download the link and follow us at @FrameableFaces here, or if you just want to watch from twitter you can do that as well!

Quinn and our Quest…

Here’s where it even gets more fun – we headed to Birmingham for the location photos and Ally just happened to notice that there was actually a pretty cool fence at the edge of a parking lot we use all the time.  It’s perfect!  It’s “Quinn’s Fence” now since that’s how we roll – we name new spots after the senior who pioneered them!

QuinnAwesome.

Here is the broadcast from this portion of the session (kinda funny – a couple of Howard Stern Show references and a couple salty drivers…) this time from Facebook Live!

We also found another spot we walk by all the time – a door behind glass that gives a cool effect and, well – Quinn is just a pro….

Quinn

At this point we headed over to Quarton Lake (no not an excuse to get another Q word in here lol) to get a few more shots with what light we had left – the conditions were great and the lighting perfect…  Here is the Periscope replay:

…and here is the amazing result!

Quinn

So there it is.  A successful quest with Quinn indeed to produce a spectacular session!  We hope you enjoyed the highlights of our day with her!

Senior Pictures With Style, Beauty, and Elle-gance!

Our session with Elle definitely produced senior pictures with style, beauty, and Elle-gance!!!  This was technically our fourth time photographing Elle – once with her family a couple years ago, once for her spokesmodel session, once for the mural in our window (sometimes I forget to count that) and now her senior pictures!  Anticipation for this session was high, and Elle certainly delivered!

To Heritage Park We Go…

Heritage Park served a couple of purposes on this day.  Not only is it a fantastic park with many obvious and hidden treasures for a photographer, but for Elle it was a safe distance away to keep her out of range for the Detroit Country Day water wars (haha).  Her mom joined us for the session and we had a blast!  So let’s get started – I believe this is the first time we’ve used this wooden door in the stone wall that we love:

Elle-Gance

A little side note here – very often we feature both full length and close up photos of our seniors, but these are all full length of Elle because Ally said she just looked so cute and coordinated with her outfits she felt the full length showed off the whole look!

Elle-gance…

For this session we spent the whole time outdoors which is a nice change especially at Heritage Park.  It gives us a chance to really explore.  The blossoms framing this photo and the backlight on Elle’s hair really come together nicely here…

Elle-gance

Let’s take a look at the first vine from this session… yes a session so nice we vined it twice!

You can see from the vines we used a number of different spots for this session many of which we won’t get to here…  But a shot like this next one is just undeniable even if we didn’t vine it:

Elle-gance

Now for vine number two!

So fun!  Okay now one last shot…

Elle-gance

So there it is – style, beauty and Elle-gance!  We hope you enjoyed these highlights from our morning with Elle!

Brad’s Senior Session Definitely BLUE Us Away!

We were pretty excited when Brad’s mom Stefany brought him here for senior pictures because we go way way back with his family – for me personally it’s about 35 years!  Brad is a really nice kid and an impressive guy.  He’ll be attending The University of Michigan in the fall and it’s always cool when your high school colors match your college ones this closely!

Go Blue…

This session “blue” us away since the predominant color is blue – Brad brought his Detroit Country Day navy blue and gold baseball gear which helped bring out his blue eyes for these pictures.  So let’s take a look at a few of them shall we?

First we started out on location which we do for all morning location sessions since we like to catch the sun lower in the sky for lighting purposes, and our conditions were great…

Blue

Nice shot huh?  We did one shirt change for the location part and grabbed a few more shots before we headed back to the studio.  Here’s one of them:

Blue

Let’s take a look at our behind the scenes vine of our day before we take it back to the studio…

Back to the studio…

We got some great stuff on location so it was time to head back to the studio.  We love the combo you see in the vine with the khakis and the baseball gear (note the shirt and Michigan tie under the jersey) – here’s a great one with the cap turned around.  Fun!

Blue

We’ll leave you with one more with this pensive and dramatic close up in black and white.  Check it out…

So there you have it!  Another fantastic senior session as we start winding down on the class of 2015 and start gearing up for the class of 2016!  Best of luck to Brad and we hope you all enjoyed the highlights from his session!

Kriti Is Pretty In A Meadow Or The City!

We couldn’t resist.  When your name rhymes with “pretty” the title just writes itself!  The thing is that it’s completely true – Kriti IS pretty in a meadow or the city, and she is really a sweetheart inside and out.  Her mom came along for the session and her dad met us on location and hung out for a while as well – what delightful people!  We chuckled a little about how she’s heard it plenty over the years – “pretty Kriti” – but it helps when you can live up to it the way she does.

We spent all of our time outdoors on location for this session and we were thrilled at the consultation when they told us they wanted Kriti in traditional dress for a few photos.  So colorful and beautiful!!!  This shot is really a winner in the meadow:

Kriti is Pretty

Next we headed to Quarton Lake in Birmingham where we photograph quite a bit since there are some really nice settings there especially with the water, and that is where we got this next photo:

Kriti is Pretty

Kriti just has a very pleasant demeanor and an easy smile – a pleasure to photograph.

Here is our fun behind the scenes vine of the day with the scene from the meadow and then our venture into Birmingham to get some city shots.

Changing pace from natural and pretty to urban and gritty is always fun since it gives a completely different aesthetic and switches up the vibe.
Kriti is Pretty

Either way Kriti is at ease as you can plainly see…

Kriti is Pretty

Love the lighting on that last photo in particular!  So there you have it, and now you can see why we say that Kriti is pretty in a meadow or the city!
