Sydney’s Senior Pictures Tell A Story Of Strength, Survival and a Little Fun!

When Sydney appeared on the blog earlier this year as a spokesmodel we mentioned that she was a survivor with more to come later this summer…  So here we are with highlights from her senior session, and what a session.  Not a dry eye in the place as we celebrated this warrior and beautiful senior from the class of 2022!  You see, Syd is a real survivor – a two time survivor of leukemia and one of the toughest people we know.  But you’d never know it.  She’s just a sweet unassuming adorable high school senior – and that’s precisely what makes her such an inspiration to us.  It was an honor for us for her to include us in incorporating her story of survival into this portrait session.  Her parents Stacy and Jason joined us along with Syd’s grandparents – it was another family affair just like it was with her brother Jeremy for his senior pics!  So let’s get to some highlights!

Strength, Survival, and a Little Fun…

Survival

Okay so maybe that header is backwards… the fun actually came before the survival part.  Hehe…

This first part of the session took place at Sydney’s house – the water, and this spiral staircase – heck we said we’re going to just start doing senior pics at their house all the time lol…

Survival

She’s adorable.

Syd even got all the way in the water and we have some fun behind the scenes from that from Facebook!

At this point we headed back to the studio and that’s where we focused on Syd’s story.  This included a framed photo of a young Syd in the middle of her first battle with leukemia on an orange background (leukemia is represented by the color orange) as well as all the beads she collected over the years that symbolize her fight.  So meaningful…  First here is the behind the scenes from Facebook and Syd’s mom Stacy gives us some background:

…and here is one of the results:

Survival

A picture is worth a thousand words. 🧡 🧡 🧡

Well we said strength, survival and a little fun right?  We started with fun, and we finished with fun.  Last stop the M1 Concourse in Pontiac to photograph Syd with her classic pink 1968 Ford Mustang that she and her dad built!  We had never been there before and what a treat.  So cool!  We’re a little embarrassed to say we didn’t even realize there was a racetrack 20 minutes from the studio!  We have some more behind the scenes from the track here on Instagram for you:

HOW COOL IS THAT?

So wow.  Yes a story of strength, survival and well……just Syd.  We laughed, we cried, we celebrated and we won’t soon forget this day – we hope you enjoyed the highlights!
