We love to take roadtrips and we typically chronicle them over on Doug’s M10 Social site on Doug’s History Blog since they usually involve lots of history – battlefields, presidents’ homes and museums. Doug is a solid amateur iPhoneographer lol…
But sometimes Ally will bring HER camera on the trip and capture some landscapes and she suspected that Acadia National Park would be a good spot. This was an EPIC road trip covering over 2000 miles in 7 days and you can read all about it and see a ton of photos at this link. But here we’re sharing a handful of photos Ally took for you to enjoy!
Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park is incredible – on the coast of Maine on Desert Island with mountains, rugged shorelines, an iconic lighthouse and plenty more. We even caught a rainbow as we drove from Tremont and the Bass Harbor Lighthouse back to Bar Harbor that we pulled over to photograph. The weather was dicey at times so there are a couple of relatively ominous skies below that are pretty cool. Let’s get to it:
Cadillac Mountain

This is the Bass Harbor Lighthouse…
There is a bit of a mystery in this photo above. No there is no tree growing inside the lighthouse. This must be the only angle where you can get a reflection of this tree. We can’t seem to determine how Ally got this photo nor can we find another like it online, but that tree is indeed there on the raw file… Hmmm….
