Doug’s Rant – To Vine Is Divine, Web Redditing and Digging – July 11, 2013

Vine and Instagram continue to fascinate me and this is the third rant in a row that I’ve focused on it.  In the last couple of weeks I’ve actually become a pretty big fan of Vine and I’ve enjoyed discovering some really creative and funny Vines as well as making a few of our own.  Here are a few ways we’ve used Vine so far – a little humor, focusing on our community, and a fun hello to our second […]

Relay For Life West Bloomfield 2013 – Team Frameable Faces!

This was the first year we entered the Relay For Life West Bloomfield with our own team and we found it to be a very fun and rewarding experience!  For those who don’t know, Relay For Life is a community fundraising event put on through the American Cancer Society to raise money for research to find a cure for cancer.  We had donated in the past and Ally had attended several of the past Relays.  I have to admit that this […]

A Family Finally Completed

The last time we photographed this family they were a family of 4.  Now they’re a family of 5 and what a journey they took to get here.  After a very sad and extremely dangerous episode a few years ago that resulted in the loss of the baby that would have completed their family along with the ability to have any more children, some time passed and they never quite felt like they were complete.  They were happy but something […]

Doug’s Rant – Instagram vs. Vine and Getting Hacked – June 20, 2013

Yep – turns out I’ve got more to say…. Insta……death of Vine on Droid? I became intrigued from the time Vine was launched as a potentially awesome platform for Frameable Faces.  We have used video quite a bit – mainly on YouTube.  It’s an effective platform for testimonials, slide shows from sessions, various interviews and behind the scenes features.  The idea of Vine is exciting because it provides what I have seen one guru refer to as “snack sized” social […]

Mickey…..Kitty!

Sure everyone has heard of Mickey Mouse, but Mickey the kitty is “taking Mickey back” for kitty nation.  Who says a cat can’t be named Mickey right?  Right.  Just look at him – he doesn’t care what you think.  You can’t stop him…

Return of the Fantastic Four!

We have been photographing these 3 siblings and their cousin for a few years now and we love when they come to the studio!  They are hilarious and we have enjoyed watching them grow – the youngest was really just a baby when we first met him, the oldest is turning into such a beautiful little lady and the other two – well they’re just not little toddlers anymore.  They’re big kids now! This session had a little silly, a […]

Doug’s Photography and Social Media Rant – May 31, 2013

It’s been an interesting week or so in photography and social media – from a certain Internet-based company CEO’s assault on professional photographers, to facebook’s announcement (finally) of verified accounts.  A couple of interesting nuggets happened here at Frameable Faces as well, so while I’m not sure if this is something I’ll do weekly or monthly (or ever again haha), I thought a little column about various current events as they relate to our business, the photography industry, and social […]

3 Months Old and A Total Pro!

This was a day we were looking forward to for a very very long time!  These are old friends of ours whom we are very close to and we are so happy for them – they’ve got the cutest little boy!  He’s a very smiley baby and this may have been the best 3 month old session we’ve ever had.  Sometimes the 3 month old session isn’t the easiest for getting all of the best shots since it’s around 6 […]

Class of 2013 Frameables! Part 4!

Here we are with another round of awesome seniors from the currently-graduating class of 2013!  This has been a fantastic class and these young ladies and gentlemen continue to validate for us why we’ve chosen to do what we do.  Each one has been a pleasure to photograph and to get to know!  As their near-futures start to come into focus we look forward to following their post-high school careers!  Enjoy!

“Perfect” Children!

Let me explain….   We have photographed plenty of little ones.  Newborns, toddlers, kids – and we love all of our little Frameables.  Often when we tell parents that our sessions are two hours they react by saying “there is no way my child will sit and pose for two hours”, and we reply saying “that’s why we need two hours!”  Sometimes toddlers need a little time to get comfortable, and for newborns in particular we block off 3 hours […]
