The 5th Annual Senior Spokesmodel Party With The Class of 2016!

If you have walked by our studio then you have seen the long white mural of high school senior spokesmodels that graces our window.  Maybe you’ve noticed that we change it up every year with our new crew, and we take those photos at our annual get together with our team when we PAR-TAY at the studio!

Spokesmodel party time!

We gathered at the studio with our peeps and as we always do, we brought in food from the Pine Lake Market who does a fantastic job of catering (ask for Nick).  We even had a birthday cake for Caitlin since it was her birthday on the day of the party!  This year we incorporated a couple new platforms that we weren’t using last year like Periscope and we broadcasted our crew introducing themselves – take a look:

Squad goals…

Next we premiered the new Spokesmodel Video which is a big highlight for us every year.  This represents months of photographing these awesome kids who we get very close to, and we are very proud of this…

The video includes this collage that we also worked on this Spring – because just (Frameable) FACE it – the class of 2016 is a B16 DEAL!!!

Spokesmodel Party

Next it was time to take the pictures for the mural which is always a lot of fun, and we posted a little behind the scenes vine as we usually do for sessions, but this time we managed to get a glance at all of them posing!  Take a look…

A Celebration of Murals…

Since this was our fifth mural we thought it would be fun to celebrate that milestone on Instagram – check it out:

Spokesmodel Party

And let’s give the new one its own spotlight – it’s about to get its own spot in our window where you’ll be able to come by and see it in all its glory!!!

Spokesmodel Party

So there you have it – another great new team to represent our studio as we roll into a new season of seniors!  WE CAN’T WAIT!!!

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two – Cierra’s Turn!

Welcome to part TWO of twin sister senior time!  If you joined us yesterday you saw part one of this beautiful twin sister senior photo session which focused on Tierra, and today as promised we are flipping it!  Today we’ll be featuring Cierra with a special return guest appearance by Tierra in a photo of them twinning on location!

I wrote at length yesterday about how fun it is to be with twins and now I’m thinking about another fun benefit of working with twins – we get to blog about them twice which gives us an excuse to show off more of the session!

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two…

So let’s start now again in the studio since that’s what we did with the girls…  I’m a fan of this first shot of Cierra because it’s unique – Ally likes to capture this pose frequently highlighting our senior’s eyelashes.  Cierra looks beautiful…

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two

This next outfit still on the black background is fun with the cute hat for this playful pose!

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two

Now let’s take a look at the behind the scenes vine highlighting Cierra from our day:

Let’s head back outside…

Let’s now bring Tierra back in and take a look at another photo of the twins together at the entrance to one of our favorite bridges, although technically it’s a platform I guess since it ends and doesn’t lead to the other side…  ha.

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two

Love that photo, and let’s take a look at a “bonus” vine of the twins together!

Okay back to a couple more with Cierra…

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two

Love that serious pose and the backlight on her hair!  And one more full length for the road…

Twin Sister Senior Time Part Two

So that will do it – we hope you’ve enjoyed both of these posts highlighting the twins.  We certainly had fun working with them!

Twin Sister Senior Time – First With Tierra!

We love twins – no really we love twins!  They have a special bond and senior pictures are so much fun and such a big milestone.  So when any senior comes in for pictures it’s a big deal and it’s one of the things we love most about our “jobs”, but with twins we get to spend a full 5+ hours with them which gives us a window into their relationship that makes for a memorable day every time.

Twin Sister Senior Time…

Tierra and Cierra were no exception, and they are North Farmington Raiders to boot so as Raiders ourselves we were pretty excited for this session.  Beautiful girls, beautiful mom and they were a blast to be with!  So today we are going to feature photos of Tierra along with a guest appearance by Cierra and then tomorrow we’ll flip it!  Let’s start in the studio with Tierra on the black backdrop…

Twin Sister Senior

With this shot we actually can’t remember for sure but I think we had the fan going on Tierra’s hair but only slightly – just to give it a little lift.  Gorgeous…

While we’re on the black background let’s bring in Cierra for a black and white close crop of these beauties together!

Twin Sister Senior

Next we’ll take a look at Tierra on the red couch against the new red background – this is the first time we’ve done this pairing and we love the result:

Twin Sister Senior

Next we’ll take a look at the highlights of Tierra’s shoot on our behind the scenes vine:

Let’s head outside…

We had a perfect day for this session which was nice and we went to one of our favorite nature preserves for these next couple photos:

Twin Sister Senior

And we’ll end for today on this one…

Twin Sister Senior

So there you have it – twin senior sister time part one!  We hope you enjoyed Tierra’s pictures and be sure to return tomorrow for part two with Cierra!

Meet The Great Gabby – Our New Class Of 2016 Spokesmodel!

Time to present another North Farmington Raider spokesmodel for the class of 2016 – The Great Gabby!!!  She’s not just “great” in general, but she’s cute, nice, smart and fun and this is not the first time she has been in front of Ally’s camera, as she made a little cameo in her sister Rachel’s senior pictures a year ago.

First in the studio…

So we started in the studio with Gabby and while we did some of our favorite shots on the black background we also broke out our metallic silver and our new grey fabric and played with those a little.  Let’s start with the grey and the red couch for this fun and playful shot:

Great Gabby

Nice!  Gabby has such a fantastic smile!  Okay now let’s move to the metal for this next one.  These are actual metal panels that we shoot in the studio and several seniors select this look each year – not a ton but definitely a few every year and we love it.  I’m going to take just a little credit on this one only because I saw this as a black and white with a close crop when Ally and I were going through them…  Yes I do have a bit of an eye sometimes – ha!

Great Gabby

What do you think?  And yes I think Gabby killed it here as her shirt would suggest…  I love this shot.

Heading outside…

Next it was time to head outside and our weather cooperated nicely for these next couple photos.

Great Gabby

As you can see so far Gabby can pull off the serious and thoughtful pose just as well as the happy smiley pose – she is the Great Gabby!  Let’s take a look at our fun behind the scenes vine of our day before we finish with a fun smile:

And the final smile before we go…

Great Gabby

It’s a winner!  Love having Gabby back especially as a spokesmodel representing our studio for the senior class of 2016!  We hope you enjoyed these highlights from her session!

MAXimum Spokesmodeling For The Class of 2016!

Time for some highlights of our second spokesmodel session for the class of 2016 – our first boy and our first North Farmington Raider – Max!  We have known Max for a long time and over the last year or so he’s been lobbying for his shot in the spotlight, and we can definitely say that when his time came he made the most of it!  We had a lot of fun on this session – you might even say it was “on fire” – but more on that later…

Max’s mom joined us for part of the shoot and we have also known her for years so this was really a great day.  Let’s get to it…

Much like our last spokesmodel session with Rachel we kept it simple with Max, starting with the white background.  White is always a good look and works on most any wall.  We’ll start with a full length shot:

Maximum SpokesmodelingJust a nice casual look with a cool hoodie – Max is the man.  Let’s change Max into a t-shirt and crop him in a little closer now – parents really like to see their senior’s face!

Maximum Spokesmodeling

Stud!  Next we broke out the black backdrop for a little more of a dramatic look…

Maximum Spokesmodeling

Lastly here is where the session got a little “heated” – if you’ve followed our blog in the past you can guess what we mean – take a look at our fun behind the scenes vine of the day!

And here is the fiery result – this time we had the flames coming off of some sweet Jordans…

Maximum Spokesmodeling

Not to worry – no seniors or Nikes were harmed in the making of this photo.  Haha…  And so there you have it!  MAXimum spokesmodeling with Max!  Looking forward to more of the new class of 2016 crew and sharing them with you!

The Twilight Was On Point For Tristan’s Senior Photos!

The twilight was on point for Tristan’s senior photos!  Every now and then we plan a nighttime shoot if it works into everyone’s schedule and when we shoot after the daylight savings “fall back” we get darkness by late afternoon.  For city portraits this can make for some really cool opportunities.  We don’t always get to try some of these creative shots with the different lighting that night shoots require.  Meanwhile we had a great senior model to work with – Tristan is a North Farmington Raider for starters which is always a bonus for us as Raider alums!  He’s a great kid with a great mom who came along for the shoot and we had much fun.  We’ll get to the city shots in a bit…

First let’s start with the studio photos where we went mostly formal.  We started with the grey backdrop which we like especially for guys in the formal wear and North Farmington’s yearbook headshots need to be on grey anyway so it’s convenient to boot.

The Twilight

From there we moved on to the black backdrop which always works well for this next close up shot:

The Twilight

We love these shots…  Tristan nailed them – really he nailed the whole session.  Here’s our fun behind the scenes vine where you’ll see us on location at night in Birmingham for the next couple photos:

The off-camera flash gives us great lighting and the shadows have a really dramatic effect here…  We use this wall all the time but this is the first time we’ve done this particular shot at night.

The Twilight

So cool right?  Totally on point.  Okay let’s take a look at one more nighttime photo…

The Twilight

Love the city flavor and the textures…  Tristan had an awesome session and we hope you enjoyed the highlights from our evening with him!

Joining Fall, Fire and Finesse With Jenna!

We are happy to share highlights from the day we were joining Fall, fire, and finesse with Jenna!  For those of you who know us you know we are both North Farmington Raider alums and how much we love the brown and gold!  Jenna comes from a great family tradition of Raider athletes and I personally have known her dad and uncle since I was a kid so this was really a special session for us.  This session had great variety which fits this girl because she’s the whole package – she’s smart, athletic, pretty and funny!

Okay let’s get to the photos!  First we went on location to Heritage Park with Jenna and her mom and we were able to get this shot in the barn doorway – a unique shot for us since I don’t think we’ve ever been there where the door was open before…

Fire and Finesse

Love it!  This next photo is another unique shot with the deep mahogany colored leaves framing the photo, and Jenna’s eyes look amazing here!

Fire and Finesse

So after getting the “Fall” part it was time to head back to the studio to get the “Fire” part!  It’s no secret that we like to set things on fire here in the studio and a volleyball is the perfect prop!  We think shots like these just convey the energy, drama and fierce commitment required for athletic competition, and Jenna just nailed it.

Fire and Finesse

Here is our fun behind the scenes vine of the day!  We always love when people see these and say “Whoa that’s real fire!  We thought that was just photoshoped!”  Yes it’s real fire!

Lastly we went to the red background for a little more “Finesse” in a dress and we love this glam shot with the sneakers!

Fire and Finesse

So there you have it!  We hope you enjoyed our joining of fall, fire and finesse with Jenna!

Lively and Lovely With Lindsey On Her Senior Session!

Lindsey came to the studio for her lively and lovely senior session on a beautiful sunny Saturday and while it was our first time photographing her here at the studio it wasn’t the first time we photographed her.  She jumped in for a few shots with her cousins a few years ago when she was a little younger and it’s always fun to do senior pictures with someone we’ve photographed before!  Oh – and especially a North Farmington Raider – you know how we love our Raiders being Raiders ourselves!

We’ve had great sessions with this class of 2015 and for different reasons – every senior is unique and different.  In Lindsey’s case she wowed us with her lively sense of style and fashion and won us over with her sweet and lovely way inside and out!

We began in the studio with some simple shots – like this one of Lindsey in a white top and jeans on the white background:

Lively and Lovely

She’s great in front of the camera!  We played around in the studio for a while including some shots of Lindsey in her brown and gold Raider letter jacket as you can see in our fun behind the scenes vine of the day!

Next it was time to head out on location for a little nature and a little city…  First we went to the grey wall that actually used to be white.  We love its new paint job and and we love Lindsey here:

Lively and Lovely

So Lindsey looks great so far right?  Well these last two outfit changes clearly kicked it up a notch or two – this one on the stairs which you saw a clip of in the vine is just so cool!  The hat, the haute couture feel, the hair twirl, the attitude – LOVE this.

Lively and Lovely

And then last but not least with the natural backdrop – just a spectacular shot of Lindsey here…  Wow.

Lively and Lovely

So there you have it!  Lindsey’s lively and lovely senior session!  We hoped you loved these photos of our day with her!

Bringing A Cool Spot Back With Becca!

We are always on the lookout for cool new locations for senior sessions and it seems lately some of our explorations have been more rewarding than usual.  New meadows, pathways and bridges get us excited!  But once in a while during a consultation a senior sees something on our iPad that we hadn’t thought about in a while and leads us back to a spot that we get to see in a whole new way!  Becca did that for us when she chose this very cool tunnel that we hadn’t been to in years.  So yes – we are bringing a cool spot back with Becca!

We’ve also mastered a few new lighting tricks since the last time we were here, and we love the way this one came out:

Bringing A Cool Spot Back

So cool – and Becca looks great!  There is also a cool outdoor staircase right by the tunnel which we took advantage of.  Any location that has a couple of different looks in close proximity is a bonus.

Bringing A Cool Spot Back

Here is our fun behind the scenes vine that we made from this location before we headed back to the studio…

Next it was time to head back and get some studio shots.  Becca liked the purple which is fun – it looks great but we don’t use it a ton.  We love Becca on this color!

Bringing A Cool Spot Back

We finished up on the white background and this is one of those shots that just begs to be made into a black and white.  It just looks cool – Becca looks totally in control here – love the pose and love the attitude!

Bringing A Cool Spot Back

And that’ll do it for now – another fantastic senior and fantastic senior session!  We hope you enjoyed these sneak peeks!

Striking Gold With Leah – Again!

Having Leah represent Frameable Faces this year has felt like striking gold.  Okay brown and gold to be exact since she’s a North Farmington Raider like both of us, but we are feeling lucky to have her because she’s just so much fun to photograph.  She just has that it – she looks great, she knows how to pose, she’s sweet and we love her mom too which doesn’t hurt since she came along for the session!  Leah had an amazing spokesmodel session earlier this year so we knew it could be tough to match, but match it she did!

We are going to feature the location shots here and we captured some really nice natural photos along with plenty of fabulous city photos, so here we go…!!!

Let’s start with the natural with this close up of Leah’s smile surrounded by some pretty purple flowers.

striking gold

Beautiful right?  Let’s give a little shout out while we’re at it to Gloria Haio from The Beauty Lounge down the hall from our studio for the fantastic job on Leah’s makeup.  Next Leah changed outfits and we moved to a different spot to get a little texture with some water in the background.  Love this one….

striking goldHere is our fun behind the scenes vine of the afternoon:

Next we moved into downtown Birmingham to get some city shots…  oh – and remember the comment about striking gold?  Leah was rocking some gold and looking great for this next shot!

striking gold

Lastly we used the fountain for a backdrop for this total stunner of a photo – a great one to end on!

striking gold

So there it is – striking gold with Leah – again!  We hope you enjoyed these – we certainly felt lucky to be able to spend a few more hours photographing this girl!
