It’s always a great honor to be trusted with the responsibility of taking the photos of an important event – a milestone in the life of a family and a bat mitzvah is certainly one that fits that description! In this case we are presenting a few highlights from Dylan’s recent bat mitzvah with the party theme of “Dylan’s Candy Bat Mitzvah” with the photos by our wonderful event photographer Angela!
A Sweet Time for Dylan
We actually remember when Dylan was born and we have known her parents Danny and Angela (don’t get confused – yes our event photographer and the bat mitzvah’s mom’s names are both Angela) for well before that, so these photos are really neat to have on our blog! Let’s start with the star – Dylan!

Here we go with the Class of 2019 Spokesmodel Panorama…..RAMA!!! We did this last year and this is just our fun way of stacking these behind the scenes iPhone panoramic photos that Doug took during our spokesmodel sessions. There’s something cool about the way the scope of a panoramic photo can capture and distort a scene in a weird and wonderful way! These are not “professional” photos by any stretch and are not meant to be taken too seriously, but they are a fun way to recap our last few months with our Class of 2019 crew as we head into senior season!
This year’s sessions took us to the usual haunts as well as a new one or two… burned out buildings, majestic theaters, trails and parks, and of course the Frameable Faces studio! When we asked our son Tony who is a junior at Bloomfield Hills High School who did he think would be a perfect spokesmodel at his school – a girl who is nice, social, well liked, smart and fun with a little extra online influence perhaps, the first name he spoke was Kaitlyn. He was spot on! This girl is amazing. Sharp, sweet and with an infectious laugh like no one’s business, she is perfect! And her spokesmodel session was perfect too! It wasn’t easy – while the light was great the wind was not. It was windy as all get out down in the D which can pose a challenge for a girl with long hair, and it wasn’t exactly warm either, but Kaitlyn still rocked it and produced some of the images that we know will prove to live on as Frameable iconic photos. So let’s get to it!
Detroit Takeover With Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn’s mom Sara is a delight as well and she came with us down to Detroit where we started off on Belle Isle as we frequently do when we head down there. The first photo we’re sharing here is the best Detroit Skyline photo we’ve taken and all it took was recognizing that we needed a different vantage point than we’ve used in the past! We couldn’t be happier with how this looks…
Gorgeous Girl!
Now we did a livestream on Instagram but were unable to record it – however we think Kaitlyn’s Snapchat story was just as good so this time we’ll start with that for some of our fun behind the scenes…
An outfit change and here we are with another closer up with our girl…
At this point we headed into downtown to the Belt Alley and got this awesome photo with these vibrant colors!
Here we have some more behind the scenes fun with our Facebook Live Video replay from the Belt – as you can see Tony actually came along with us on Kaitlyn’s session and they took a few photos together which will surface soon….. 🙂
At this point we made one more location change, heading over to some of the more ratchet areas of the Eastern Market for a little urban decay which makes for great photos! We’ll leave you with this one…

Ellory came to the studio this week with her mom Jodi for some good vibes, her modeling closeup and some fun! We definitely got all three. What a sharp and adorable girl she is and we really had a blast so let’s take a look at some highlights!
Ellory Was Ready For Good Vibes
We photographed the whole session on the black backdrop but with a few different styles and we’ll start with some Good Vibes right off the bat!
The laughing photo is a fun one to set the stage – this girl couldn’t keep the SERIOUS pose for too long without just a little giggling.

Ellory is such a rock star!
We also have some fun behind the scenes on this too but for whatever reason I’ve been struggling with the audio and covering the mic when we go live on Instagram. No idea why…. we’ve been livestreaming on Periscope and other platforms for 3 years with no problem but for some reason we’re a little snake bitten on Instagram. BUT – in this case it’s kind of funny…. if you watch at the 48 second mark I ask Ellory what she wants to do with her life and her reaction is priceless. First I played around with her acting shocked that she didn’t know, and then I let her off the hook telling her I didn’t know until less than 10 years ago. It’s pretty cute.
Let’s also give a shout out to Valoria at The Beauty Lounge for Ellory’s hair – that’s Valoria making an appearance in the livestream too.

Aparna just turned 16 and her mom Manila wanted to celebrate with some portraits and with a half saree no less! We love the Indian half saree traditional dress – they are so pretty with such radiant colors – a photographer’s dream! Aparna is a sweetheart too and we had fun with the two of them and Aparna’s little brother came along for support as well!

Senior sessions in and around Detroit always get us excited – there’s just such a buzz around the city and so much to photograph! It’s even better when we have a senior who is down for some fun with personality, style, and the whole fam! Yep Sarah’s parents and older sister came along and we all had a great time! Sarah is a sweetheart and we are pleased to present the highlights of our day with her!
Sarah Around Detroit!
We started on Belle Isle which is how we typically roll – it’s a great location with all kinds of spots to discover – we’ll pick up the action there:

Ben’s senior session in the big D was totally bomb indeed. We are photographing seniors in Detroit more and more these days and Ben is a buddy of both of our kids – it’s kinda cool this year for us with some of our seniors because this is the class in between our 2 and Ben we’ve known for a while so it was a ton of fun. Ben’s mom Erin is great too – she came along and we laughed a lot on this session!
Senior Session In The Big D…
We started on Belle Isle which is pretty typical for us when we head down to Detroit and we’ll pick up the action there with the fountain in the background:

We then made another stop over by the Eastern Market to one of our favorite empty buildings for a little urban decay vibe (even though Detroit is very much “un-decaying” and coming back strong these days).

It’s a joy to see a family in the process of growing right before your eyes when they are expecting and this fabulous family of three is about to become FOUR! So we met them in a park to get some awesome location portraits of this version of the crew and we had a blast.

Sami’s sublime senior session was one to remember, and why wouldn’t it be? We already photographed Sami before as a spokesmodel representing the class of 2018 and that session was fab so we already knew we could look forward to another awesome outing! This time we went to the E.L. Johsnon Nature Center in Bloomfield Hills and our conditions were perfect! Sami’s mom Lisa and her boyfriend Greg joined to be Sami’s cheering section too! Great lighting, great senior and plenty of natural beauty all around…. much to enjoy so let’s get to it!

Oh Olivia we love ya!!! We have loved this senior pretty much since we met her – she’s cool, smart, athletic, nice, pretty on the inside and out – the whole package! You may remember that she kicked off the spokesmodel sessions for the class of 2018 with some shots that have already solidified themselves as iconic shots in Frameable Faces lore!

So needless to say we were excited to get her in front of Ally’s camera again this time outside in a gorgeous setting and the results are stunning as we knew they would be! Since we were exclusively in the studio the first time around we went totally on location this time joined by Olivia’s awesome mom Liz, and……wow!
